Buddhist Festival Month 2011 (NSWBC)
Buddhist Festival Month in May 2011 (Sydney) is a month-long celebration of the Buddha’s life and teachings. It will showcase the widest range of Buddhist community celebrations Australia has ever seen. The Buddhist community is excited about the opportunity to open its doors to the whole community of Australia over this month-long festive period and invites everyone to a series of free events starting with a free Buddhism Expo in the first two weekends of the month.
Explore the many traditions and different ways the Buddha is celebrated and followed through the Buddhist Festival Month free community expo at Cabramatta and Marrickville.
The theme for this year is Buddhism in Practical Life, with an emphasis on informing, experiencing and participating in the practical application of Buddhist teachings to daily life.
Your heart and mind will be engaged by quality and interesting activities and displays as well as the opportunity to speak with a vast array of practitioners.
Discover and learn through the showcase of artefacts, artworks and exhibits.
